Industry

Few industries require as much treated water as the food and beverage industry. By its very nature, this industry produces products that are directly available for human use and the products produced can directly affect human health. Water is used in almost every stage of this production process and is the most valuable raw material of this process. The importance of water treatment in the food industry stems from the need to eliminate the presence of various physical, chemical pollutants and biological contaminants such as microorganisms. To prevent any kind of spoilage, the water used for cooking or specifically applied to food must be potable and of good quality. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to remove contaminants that change the physical, chemical and biological properties of water.

Treated water makes up the majority of liquid in the food industry and therefore needs to be treated to meet taste/odor targets. For high purity, more water treatment is often required than is needed to meet drinking water requirements. Especially in water filling and bottling plants, it is often possible to find hardness or heavy metal residues that alter the taste of the water, even though most of the water sources in the area where the plant is located are potable. This has a negative impact on both consumer satisfaction and product quality. To prevent this problem, raw water sources are treated with advanced water treatment technologies. Treated water can be used safely and easily in the final product at the last stage and this affects the product quality in a very positive way.
